Griffin Silbey’s work explores the impact of technological evolution and artificiality through various mediums. Through sculpture utilizing everyday objects, his work offers a critique of artificiality that dominates everyday life through home decor and personal aesthetic. In contrast to his sculpture, much of his other work reappropriates stock photos as well as maximalist cartoon aesthetics and text, working in the realms of confrontation, misremembered nostalgia, space and feeling. Griffin allows himself to let go completely when it comes to creating, working in the outer limits of what art is and can be.
